I can’t remember where I picked them up. I adore promotional art and graphics. These two pamphlets are for knitwear for our upcoming winter. They are both collections of images of two young women in knitwear manufacturers and designers hope we’ll rush out and buy.
They are both produced on heavy card but it is the simlpilicity of the Nineteen//46 Get Knitted that I prefer.
The images are centrally placed on each page. There are no “props” – just the model and the clothing. Nearly all the images are posed like a full length passport photo so that the image of the young woman and the clothes speak straight out of the page.
They are so beautifully done and as evocative of our age as a formal protrait that this little publication is going into my box of memorable art.
