This Sunday 10th February 3pm is the second Jam Session at the Black Sheep, Whakamarama.
Sorry I’m late flashing this: I’ve been busy renovating one of the bathrooms, cleaning the roof and attacking the wilderness I call the garden. Not because of Marie Kondo I’ve already taken loads to the recycling, two loads to the tip and have spent your next year’s Christmas present money on additional storage containers.
Now I’ve justified my existence:- here are some beautiful black and white images taken by Jo Jones from the first Brendan McCarthy facilitated Jam Session last month at the Black Sheep. It was held in the Courtyard. I was a bit late getting there and missed seeing Patrick and Jana Hawkins so hope they’ll be there again this Sunday.
I’m including one the images I took of Jo Jones: she has a very Joan Baez-unusual timbre to her voice.
And opening at the Black Sheep at Whakamarama at 11am on the 16th February is the Atrium Gallery. The Gallery will be open 11am to 5pm Wednesday to Sunday. Check out the Black Sheep’s facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Bar—Grill/The-Black-Sheep-Bar-Grill-1521530954835376/
Also opening in Downtown Tauranga on the 15th is The Art Lounge which has been a very successful dealer gallery and arts space in Devonport Road – that building is being demolished and The Art Lounge is moving to Willow Street: Best wishes to both the Atrium Gallery at Whakamarama and The Art Lounge Downtown Tauranga.
The Art Lounge says” “We have now closed our gallery at 32 Devonport Road due to our old premises being demolished this month and have moved to the next street up. “The Only Way Is UP!”
Our new location is: 117 Willow Street, Downtown Tauranga and we will re-open our gallery by Friday,15th February.
