FASHION FUNDRAISER: Urban Vogue & George Edward for Aquinas College

Diane Hume- Green was “Scene” at the Aquinas College Fundraiser held at Bethlehem Town Centre – a super fun night; hosted by Urban Vogue/George Edward, 2 fashion stores at Bethlehem Town Centre.

Taking an empty shop and turning it into an evening venue was the work of Lee-Ann Taylor and her many helpers. Shabby chic frames with lace inserts by Lisa O’Dwyer were installed on a bare wall, knotted fabric screening , floral arrangements and candles on the tables and a fun photo booth added to the atmosphere

Aquinas College pupils and parents modelled the gorgeous spring and summer fashions from UrbanVogue/George Edward, shoes from Footloose and hair by Shine. This was all accompanied by Lee-Ann’s sparkling commentary and the DJ pumping out great music and cool lighting by Triac.

Moko clothing from Paua Fritter opened the show. Totaea Randall’s designs grace t shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, singlets and he has a cool range of kids clothes too. They have strong graphic images with a distinctive New Zealand vibe. My husband, and nephew and brother-in-law in Sydney have all received Paua Fritter t-shirts over the last couple of years and they all often get stopped in the street asking what brand they are. www.onuworld.co.nz

Rpm garments were modelled by students of the co-ed school and great to see another local firm’s clothing paraded. Glad my teenagers weren’t there as they would have been wanting several of the garments. Comfortable, stylish and totally cool. www.rpm.co.nz

The night finished with impromptu dancing by the models and audience loving the retro music at the end of a great fundraising event.
